You're my first friend here! Thanks! :) I'm learning how this site works. I think it's a fantastic idea! I'm so happy to be back into playing my violin and whatever viola just happens to be available. What's your string story?

Thanks for inviting me as a friend, I feel honored. I'm learning to play Viola for now, maybe violin later. Plan to learn some Black American Gospel, Classical, and some other religious music. I'm a beginner learning on my own now. Hope to be a music student sometime soon. Wish you the best. Keep us posted how you're doing.
Best wishes, Dale
Hey! Thanks for the add. I am slowly getting to know this website. I see you are a worshipper too! What kind of church music do you do? I play at a big contemporary mega-church in Honolulu called New Hope Christian Fellowship. It is a Four-Square Gospel Church. I am super interested in prophetic music too! I improvise everything on the worship team, but not sure if it passes for prophetic just yet although there are always moments I start playing and a different kind of song not my own comes out! I have a friend who plays her violin and God heals people when she plays over them and then prays for them! It's pretty cool! Anyways! I am on FB if you'd like to add me. Bree :-)
Nice to meet you, Carolina. I notice your interest in gospel music. For many years I traveled with The Spirituals, the leading gospel group in the Southeast, headquartered in Lakeland, Florida. Every Saturday morning we'd get on that big bus and take off for destinations all over Florida and up into Georgia and Alabama. It was one of the most satisfying experiences I have ever had and I have been playing professionally for over 75 years everything from country music to symphony orchestras. I wold enjoy hearing from you. Brad, the Fiddlerman
Carolina, thanks for inviting me as a friend. I and my students perform lots of gospel music being from the "bible belt" as they call it. We're very proud of that with where the world is today and always blessed to perform for the church. I teach lots of genre however. If there is anything I can do for you, please feel free to ask.

Hey Carolina, I'm glad to meet another aspiring violinist like myself. Hopefully you won't mind me asking a stupid music question like: what type of "traditional music" do you like to play? (Which tradition?)

Hi Carolina
Thanks for the friends request.
I also like playing worship music.
I play cello proffessionally in Chicago. My husband is a violist at the Lyric Opera.
Let us know if you ever do an audition in Chicago.
All the best

I haven't spent much time here, but I'm always on the lookout for chamber music players in my area.
Nice to meet you. What are your favorite hymes to play? My favorite two are Amazing Grace and Nearer My God to Thee.
Best,
Steve

I am thoroughly enjoying playing the cello in these last chapters of my life.
