Hello Lisa ~ I just saw your post here, and am delighted! My c1790 viola is a Francois Louis Pique, and I of course have done as much biographical research as I can. I agree that it is not easy tracking down information on such a famous person!

I apologise if I am not really on the right forum, I am not actively involved as a musician, but am trying to find out about a particular violin maker, can anyone kindly re-direct me to a more biographical site,
Thankyou
Hi everyone,
Sorry if I'm being very cheeky here.
I have always been very interested in music, and recently found out that my Great (5x) Grandfather was Francois-Louis Pique. He appears to have been very highly regarded violinmaker, but I can't find…
Lisa - I am so glad to hear back from you! So they talk about Puique's son-in-law, but not his daughter? Do you know which child of Pique's you are decended from?
I am also interested in family history, and luckily I have a "first cousin once removed" who is really into it, and get a lot of information from him. Jason and your children will be happy to have all this information, just you wait and see!
I hope you find this note - I'm still at sea about how to use this forum. We will talk again soon!
Lisa - This is Shirley again - since I don't know how to navigate this forum, I'm trying several different ways to get in touch with you! I have just replied to your query concerning Francoise-Louis Pique, and hope that you see it. I would love to continue our combined research on for M. Pique, the maker of my 1790 viola. I hope we can get in touch again!
