If you are or did take lessons what are/would you get your teacher for Christmas?

Well, my first thought would be to get something useful, as I'm sure you're familiar with the notion that teachers in general aren't particularly affluent. (Life is unfair that way.) If that's not your style(or theirs), something simple and heartfelt is the way to go. One teacher of mine had tons of knick-knacks all over her studio that were musical; she even had a small statue in her garden of a toad playing cello! If you look online at monalisasound.com (home to the Hampton Rock String Quartet) they have some interesting merchandise besides sheet music. There are a few different styles of greeting cards that are very clever musical puns.

Last year we gave my violin teacher a candle, that also came with a candle warmer...she loved it. Candles are great for almost anything...
