All Things Strings

Hi!

My new blog post discusses "diva behavior" and "artistic temperament."  Same thing?

Please read and comment!

Many thanks.

I think playing any instrument can really bring out your emotions... which is a good thing. Even frustration is good sometimes. So I'd call that "artistic temperament" ...... but maybe "diva behavior" is when you take it a little too far. =)

PS. I like that vintage post card!

Hi Catherine,

Thanks for your comments! I agree.

"Diva behavior" can be useful at times ~ I'd say it's about the same as a respectable New York hissy fit. However, that doesn't work where I live now.

The postcard is via Flickr, of a family of opera singers. Specifically: The Carandini ladies, one of Australia's first opera performing families, ca. 1875.

Thanks again,

Gretchen
